Description
This little chair in a pretty bad state gave Sally the opportunity to try out a traditional method of ebonising wood using tea and iron oxide (waste wire wool and other rusty things from the workshop soaked in vinegar). Following the ebonising the chair has been waxed and polished to a nice shine. We think the end result is beautiful. On close inspection it’s not quite black, but a very dark brown.
The chair is not strong enough for sitting on so would be best in a bathroom or bedroom for hanging clothes or towels on, or perhaps used as a plant stand.
